Safe mode starts Windows in a basic state, using a limited set of files and drivers. While booting, Windows creates a log file that lists every step processed that is attempted and completed. When Boot Logging is enable, Windows boots normally, until the device or driver that is causing the problem either crashes the system or completes starting up but causes an error message in the Event Log. In the System Configuration window, Go to Boot tab and uncheck the option with Boot Log under Boot options to disable the Boot log feature. To open System Configuration, type msconfig and click on Ok. And, the log is produced only when you turn on the boot logging option. The boot log is overwritten every time you start Windows. In Windows XP, you can enable boot logging by pressing the F8 key when Windows first starts and choose the item Enable Boot Logging.
